Candido's Advice: How to Prepare to Study for the OSCP Exam
Candido Lopez is a police officer in Chicago, but he decided he wanted to pursue the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification. Candido discusses the obstacles and setbacks he encountered along his journey. He endured long work hours (midnight shift), COVID-19, and working as a TA for Evolve, all while balancing family and friends. He advises those also pursuing the OSCP exam: If you’re not failing, you’re not trying. If you take the exam and do not pass, the journey does not stop. It’s still a journey upward, but sometimes failing is one of those steps. Take time, reflect, and evaluate where you did well and what needs tweaking. Second, find that work-life balance. Search to see what more you need leading up to the exam. Prioritize studying and get it done.
